It's like spitting up blood!

For the longest time, Amy and I have used the same toothpaste: Crest Multi-Care Whitening Fresh Mint in the Neat Squeeze Dispenser. But the other day, we jazzed things up a bit by trying a new flavor from Crest.

The company has rolled out a collection called Whitening Expressions that features 3 new flavors that are rather non-traditional for toothpaste. Along with Fresh Citrus Breeze and Extreme Herbal Mint, we tried the new Cinnamon Rush flavor.

Our old Neat Squeeze toothpaste

We had to get adjusted to the new bottle. I've liked using Crest's Neat Squeeze Dispensers because they get the most out of the bottle. No problems with squeezing the middle of a tube. No clogging at the top of a pump. By the way, anyone remember using pump toothpaste growing up? My sister and I would always fight over who got the top of the pump dispenser all messy. (For an 80s flashback, check out this commercial for the Colgate Pump). Doesn't seem like you find much in the way of pump toothpaste anymore. Some are not mourning the death of this product.

New Cinnamon Rush toothpaste

But I digress... the new packaging of this Crest product feels less toothpaste-like. There is a cap that flips open to dispense the product. (It should be noted that you pay the same price for this product as other toothpastes, but get less in the tube). Probably the craziest experience with this new flavor, however, is actually putting it in your mouth. It's like chewing Big Red gum while brushing your teeth. Even more weird, when you spit into the sink, it's all colored RED. Takes a while to get used to the fact that you aren't spitting up blood.

I don't quite know what to make of this new toothpaste innovation. Maybe I'd try the orange flavor, but that's about it.

I got a free sample tube of all the new flavors when I started school in the fall. I have yet to try the orange or the mint, but I love the cinnamon. I'm not sure I'll use it after I run out, I'm partial to Colgate, but that's another issue.
