On Monday night, Amy and I tried to put plans into place to figure out how to best use our time here in California when not working the conference. Since we didn't rent a car, we were feeling rather trapped here at the hotel and the surrounding area, because frankly, the transit system sucks.

LA has transit, Anaheim has transit, but they don't really connect with each other, and we sort of wanted to explore a little in Hollywood or whatnot. I never thought that I would actually appreciate the CTA, Pace, and Metra and how those systems overlap.

After much discussion, we came up with a gameplan for the week. And by then, of course, we were hungry. So we walked on over to Downtown Disney, the free open-air mall/shopping complex next to Disneyland.
Christmas tree is still up!
The version here in Anaheim was modeled after the successful version put in place in Orlando... which was formerly known as the Disney Village Marketplace. Granted, the Anaheim version is much smaller, but it's been rather successful.
