This New Tanner Condo - Episode 1

We're just two episodes into This Old Tanner House (Episode 1, Episode 2) and we already have a spin-off show! Introducing This New Tanner Condo, the show where we track the improvements undertaken by Steve and Amy Tanner in their recently-purchased condo. Oh, the joys of ownership!

In this debut episode, we're tackling the "Green Room", the second bedroom located in our condo, which is slated to become Steve's office. Since he works from home, having a living space where he can actually be productive is a huge plus! Let's take a look at what the space looked like prior to purchase by the Tanners:

Care Bears and Elmo?

Amy notes the room during the home inspection

Now you can see why we've nicknamed this space the Green Room. It was used as a child's bedroom, with the very, very bright green being accented by quite a few red Elmo dolls. After the Tanners closed on their condo, the room looked even more eyeball-scaring with no furniture:

Green Room, minus furnishings

Yes, it really is that bright!

Hurt your retinas yet?

Over the weekend, friends and family assisted in preparing the walls of the Green Room for their new color. This of course involved priming over the green with a very thick white primer. It took two coats, but the walls are ready to go:

Green Room, minus the green

Primer applied to walls, ready to paint

What color(s) will this room take on next? What about the rest of the condo? Tune in next time to find out on This New Tanner Condo!

The green may have been invigorating. Kind of like a cup of coffee without the caffeine or the coffee taste (which I know Steve is so fond of).

It would seem that way, but it wasn't. The paint was high gloss, cause a lot of reflection when the lights were on. Very disorienting and probably the cause of a headache or two.

iPod Green

We started calling it iPod green since it was seriously that bright.

Holy crap! Where was the volume control for that room?!?!

FYI - Natalie has her degree in interior design, if you'd like some input?
