Tonight Amy and I visited with our friends,
Nicko &
Colleen Sahlas.
Amy, Nicko, & Colleen
As we've mentioned them numerous times on our blog, I probably don't need to explain our relationship... but for those who want the 2-minute summary: Good friends we met at church many years ago... Nicko was a professional chef and runs
ChefTalk.com, but now is a programmer... and
keeps the forums running at TannerWorld Junction... Colleen was our
real estate lawyer when we
bought our condo... she also
sang at our wedding (
RealVideo clip)... they enjoy
good jazz...
and art... plus they apparently like to play games with us for some reason.
After some heated exchanges over e-mail during the past few days (translation: trash talk), it was time for a Dutch Blitz rematch. You see, we had previously introduced this game to them... and proceeded to crush them repeatedly (Other Dutch Blitz mentions on our blog
here,
here, and
here). We played again tonight, with the guys pretty much winning all the rounds. This was followed up by a fun game of
Scooby-Doo Clue, which
Amy gave me for Christmas 2003.
A good time was had by all, though I think Nicko & Colleen find Amy & I a tad bit too competitive with these games. But hey, you can't argue with the classic challenge and deduction found in
Clue! (Sure beats the
bandwagon "fun" of Settlers of Catan...)
